Social Event (11 June)
The social event will take place Tuesday 11 starting from 14:45. It will be a tour of Cremona with four main activities organized by ProCremona.
We will start with the visit from the “Piazza del Comune” and the magnificent building site of the Cathedral, in which it will be possible to deepen the discovery of Cremonese Renaissance art. Then we will enter the “vertical museum” consisting of four themed rooms inside the Torrazzo, the highest masonry bell tower in Europe. The ascent towards the panoramic terrace of the tower needs climbing up the 502 steps of the Torrazzo, so people who do not intend to climb can visit instead the Archaeological Museum. Cremona has always been the “capital of lutherie”, with artisan shops in every corner and students from all over the world. So we will visit the workshops of the “Academia Cremonensis” of Cremona, a violin and bow making school, situated in the splendid and noble Mina Bolzesi palace. Lastly, we will reach the Giovanni Arvedi Auditorium for a performance on an historical Stradivari violin.
Social Dinner (12 June)
The social dinner will take place Wednesday 12 at Relais del Convento. The relais is placed in Persichello, a small hamlet outside Cremona, so will reach it by bus. The meeting point will be the bus shelter along “via Dante” in front of the Piazzale della Stazione, trips are scheduled at 7:30 pm sharp.
Farewell Lunch (13 June)
Thursday 13 our sponsor IMAX (MAxMaraGroup) will offer us a farewell standing banquet.
